  1. OK, now you’re going to make me geek out. 🙂 There are basically two eye arrangements. You have the eyes of prey, presumably with the need to observe a wide range: these are eyes on the side of the head. Think cow eyes–on the sides of the head, oriented laterally. Then you’ve got predator eyes–on the front of the head, directed forwards. Presumably to allow for good calculation of range, maybe. Think wolf eyes.

    How anyone would know whether our vision has gotten better, gotten worse, or remained unchanged since the development of agriculture, I have no clue.
